Hampton's July Update

We know it’s been a crazy long time since we’ve sent out a big ol’ update, and we know how much you love them…so back by popular demand, is the latest Island Update.

The Happenings

We’ve actually not been our city too much recently; or even this country for that matter.  We’ve only been at home for 2 weeks since mid-June.  But we’re back now, and we’re in it for the long-haul; that is until December when we leave our humble little island and return to the States.

As most of you know, we were in Thailand for a huge meeting with people from all across our region.  We used this time to meet people and look for possible positions for when we return to Asia.  We have several good offers and are waiting for the Lord to lead us to the right city.  We’ve narrowed it down to two cities; it’ll be incredibly hard to choose. Ask that the Lord will continue to lead us as we contemplate our future.

Our Work

As you can imagine, we haven’t had a lot of face time with our friends since we’ve been traveling.  We have met with some of our friends and we seriously need some prayer for these people.  Some of these people’s hearts are so rock-hard that it seems like what we’re sharing just isn’t sinking in.  Ask that the Spirit would soften the hearts of the people who don’t yet believe.

Missing our Friend

You’ve all heard of our friend Jessica who came out to the Island with us last January.  She was having some health problems and had surgery in Singapore.  She went to the States for a friend’s wedding and went to the doctor in America, and the consensus is that she should not return to the Island.  Abruptly her work in the city came to a halt and we didn’t even get to say good-bye to our friend.  She’ll be missed by both the nationals as well us the foreigners.  Pray that God will give her direction as she unexpectedly returned to the States.

Etc.

That’s basically what’s been going on in a nutshell.  There is a whole lot more going on, but if we chronicled everything you’d be reading a book.  Courtney’s getting big and so is Asher.  Everything has been extremely smooth and we’re SO thankful that there have been no complications!  We can’t wait for September3
